Winnipeg Plumbing Location the Backdrop for Manitoba Government Announcement

B. A. Robinson Co. Ltd.'s Winnipeg location was the setting for an announcement and press conference by Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger and Winnipeg's Mayor Sam Katz..

Members of the local media gathered to hear Premier Selinger and Mayor Katz make their announcement regarding incentives for homeowners to install sump pumps and backwater valves. This is being done in anticipation of flooding , that is predicted to be very heavy all across Manitoba in the spring of 2011.

This new subsidy program will pay up to 60 per cent of the cost of installing a sewer/drainage backup system to a maximum of $3,000 per household (up to $1,000 toward the installation of an approved in-line backwater valve and up to $2,000 toward the installation of a sump pump and pit drainage system).

The text of the news release can be found on the Province of Manitoba's web site - please click here.
